How to brush your teeth without plastic

zero waste

There’s a great little start up in Bangalore run by a woman named Sahar. It’s called Bare Necessities and she’s making products to make it easier to live a zero waste life. I recently bought her home made toothpaste – which is terrific. It’s the only toothpaste I’ve found that is sold in a reusable glass jar. When you combine that with a bamboo toothbrush (which she also sells) – you’ve got a zero waste dental experience!

Best of all: when you order from her she reuses boxes and newspaper as packing. No plastic, no breakage, no waste! This is really the first company I’ve encountered in which you can see zero waste practises aligned across the board.
